Agenda: cleanups Halloween other updates Leslie Caplan and Richard Plackemeier Northeast Area-Wide Cleanup Saturday, 10/29, 8am to noon This time there will be less focus on raking, more on pickup around the neighborhood. Leslie and Richard will be distributing the blue trashbags - these are picked up regardless of location at no extra charge. We are looking for neighborhood residents to volunteer to take ownership of a crew and a street. Leslie and Richard will be at the Concourse that morning and will serve as the point of contact that morning. Start telling neighbors now and contact Leslie with location of any large pickups or neighbors needing help with cleanup. There was discussion approaching neighbors needing help with their yards and asking if they wanted to be added to a list of homes for the volunteers to visit the morning of the cleanup. Richard (with Mike and Jeff) will lead a team of volunteers cleaning up the Benton Circle and continuing to the Colonnade overlook. Richard will also serve as the point of contact for dispatching trucks and trailers for hauling brush or trash from homes to the dumpsters. There was discussion of a new program the city will be starting which offers a reward for tires turned in. More details to follow as they are shared. Leslie distributed a flyer reading roughly as follows: Take advantage of this cleanup: • Bulky Item Curbside Pickup: Residents may place bulky items curbside for pick-up at no charge. You must contact Leslie by 10/17 and place your items curbside no sooner than 10/27. Contact Leslie at ldcis...@gmail.com or 816-326-8669. • Brush and Trash: Dumpsters will be available at Concourse Park and Budd Park. • Tires: A trailer for used tires will be available at Budd Park. • Be a Street Leader: Residents may volunteer to lead a team of volunteers and focus on targeted area.
